East Central University offers seven masters degrees with 17 options, two graduate certificate, and one post-master certification. These programs satisfy requirements for advanced and provisional Oklahoma teaching certificates, Licensed Professional Counseling, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, as well as other credentials.

The School of Graduate Studies assists graduate students and the academic departments that offer graduate degrees. Students are admitted to the university, the School of Graduate Studies, and the degree program. Students may be admitted as:
- Non-Degree Seeking – Students seeking admission for graduate credit.
- Concurrent – Students finishing their bachelor’s degree.
- Provisional – Students not yet meeting the program admission standards.
- Conditional – Students meeting standards but lacking specific requirements.
- Unconditional – Students fully admitted to degree programs.

- The GRE test:

- The Miller Analogies Test (MAT):

Are you an undergraduate wanting to take graduate courses?
A senior student who lacks less than a full normal study load and who has completed a minimum of one hundred (100) credit hours may be permitted to enroll in courses applicable to a Graduate Degree Program, subject to the following study load provisions:
Fall and Spring Semesters
- A maximum of nine (9) undergraduate and six (6) graduate credit hours; or
- A maximum of twelve (12) undergraduate and three (3) graduate credit hours.
Summer Semester
- A maximum of three (3) undergraduate and three (3) graduate credit hours; or
- A maximum of six (6) graduate credit hours.
No more than six (6) hours in a semester or three (3) in a summer term may be applied to a graduate degree.
