Are you looking to get a jump start on your college education? If you are a high school junior or senior, becoming a concurrent student at East Central University may be for you. Check below for eligibility, then apply!
Concurrent Eligibility
A high school student may take college-level courses while still enrolled as a Junior or Senior by meeting the following requirements for admission:
Unweighted High School GPA of 3.0 and class rank in the top 50%
Or ACT composite score of 20 OR grade point average of 3.0 and rank in the top 50%. Students must have a 19 ACT score in science reasoning, mathematics and/or English to enroll in coursework in the respective subject area(s). A student scoring below 19 ACT in reading will not be permitted to enroll in any other collegiate course (outside the subjects of science, mathematics, and English).
Or Pre-ACT composite score of 20.
RESTRICTIONS: Enrollment is limited to 19 semester hours which is a combination of high school and college courses. (One high school course equals three semester hours of college work.) A student who is otherwise eligible under this policy may enroll in a maximum of nine semester hours during a summer term.
At the end of each semester, a concurrent student may continue his/her enrollment at ECU provided that during the provisional enrollment period he/she has achieved a cumulative college grade point average of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. A final, official high school transcript is required upon graduation to complete the student’s file.
*Requirements are subject to change each fall as mandated by the Oklahoma State Regents of Higher Education.
