COMPUTER SCIENCE. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at East Central University (ECU) is seeking qualified applicants for a faculty position in the Computer Science program beginning August 2022.

East Central University is a student-centered regional state university located in Ada, Oklahoma. ECU offers thirty-three undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts and letters, business, education, mathematics and sciences, nursing, and the social sciences; and ten master's degrees in education, human resources, and psychology. ECU's 3,400 students come from 28 countries and 25 different states. About 65% of the 172 faculty hold doctorates. The University is committed to teaching excellence and invites applications from candidates with strong records of teaching, scholarly activity, program development, and professional service.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
The department seeks candidates with an earned M.S. or ABD in computer science or a related field. The successful candidate with M.S. or ABD will be appointed at the non-tenure-track, instructor level. Required qualifications include strong programming skills using high-level programming languages such as Java and C++, in a Unix/Linux computing system. Preference given to candidates that have at least 18 hours of graduate level mathematics. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate a commitment to quality teaching, scholarship and service, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teaching load of 24-27 hours per academic year;
• Engagement in scholarship; and
• Service, including advisement of computer science majors, service on departmental and university committees, and commitment to students during required office hours.
