JOB TITLE:  Transfer Admissions Coach   
DEPARTMENT:  Office of Admissions   
REPORTS TO:  Director of Admissions and Recruitment

 
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, the Transfer Admissions Coach is responsible for recruiting and assisting prospective undergraduate transfer students through the admission process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the university's academic offerings, activities, scholarships, financial aid, athletics, housing, transfer services, student support services, and campus life.
• Coordinates on-site visits for transfer fairs and events for prospective students requiring assistance. Ensures all scheduled appointments are recorded on the master calendar maintained by the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Admissions & Recruitment.
• Works closely with the Office of Admission & Recruitment's Administrative Assistant to assure successful LEAD entry upon returning from recruitment events and visits.
• Assists in refining initiatives to keep transfer recruiting programs viable and enhance the quality of the student body by establishing relationships with two-year colleges and other relevant constituencies.
• Admit all prospective transfer undergraduate applicants to the University per the admission criteria defined by East Central University and Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. 
Includes:
    • Assisting students with completion of application related forms,
    • Performing data entry,
    • Monitoring any special admission conditions,
    • Identifying academic deficiencies and related processes,
    • Notifying students of their admission status,
    • Reviewing and processing admissions documents, and
    • Overseeing the scanning of admission documents.
• Maintain current information on admission guidelines and regulations, University procedures and policies, as well as current trends and issues within the profession.
• Implement a comprehensive, targeted communication plan (including mail, e-mail, phone calls, and other potential methods) to applicants informing them of missing documents and next steps in the admissions process.
• Use reporting tools to identify students with whom to communicate and to audit data.
• Assist with processing applications for Study Abroad or National Student Exchange programs.
• Maintain a working knowledge of computer systems and programs used by the office.
• Serves as a public representative of the university therefore must be comfortable giving university informational sessions and facilitating transfer event exhibits.
• Assist with daily office operations including answering phones, responding to emails, greeting and providing counsel to prospective students and guests to meet customer service goals.
• Attend the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the workplace.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Track record for meeting deadlines and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks.
• Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly, concisely, and accurately.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively with a diverse community.
• Computer literate and proficient with MS applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Will need to be able to quickly learn and utilize multiple software applications with proficiency.
• Ability to convey enthusiasm, energy, and poise in an ever-changing environment.
• Knowledge of business English, file management, and proper e-mail and telephone etiquette.
• Any combination of four-plus years of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
• Bachelor's degree conferred prior to start date.
• Experience working in higher education, in admissions, scholarships, financial aid, or a related department.
• Customer service and office management experience.

SALARY: $32,500 - $36,500
