The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is seeking MLK Spirit Award Nominations. Please nominate an ECU student that you feel is worthy of this prestigious honor. The winner will receive recognition for their spirit and a $50.00 gift card generously donated by the ECU Bookstore.

Award Criteria:
Leadership: This award recognizes a student who shows leadership skills in the classroom and the community, and uses these skills to impact others in a positive manner.
Service: This award recognizes a respectable, law-abiding student who jumps at the chance to serve others without expecting anything in return.
Nomination Procedure:
Faculty and staff who wish to nominate an undergraduate or graduate student should write two paragraphs (one for each criterion) explaining how the student exemplifies leadership and service in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This information should be emailed, along with the student’s name and major, to Christine Pappas at cpappas@ecok.edu, with “Spirit of MLK” in the subject line.
