This workshop is to increase awareness of historical trauma for those who work with American Indian children and families. This training may elicit intense reactions, but discussing these issues are necessary to better serve American Indian families.

Participants will gain a better understanding of:

1. The concept of historical trauma.
2. The impact of historical trauma on the wellness of American Indian families.
3. The resiliency of tribal communities.
