Broadway’s Next H!T Musical, an award-winning improvised musical comedy, will hit the Ataloa Theatre Stage for a 7:30 p.m. performance Thursday, Jan. 21 in East Central University’s Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

Broadway’s Next H!T Musical is an unscripted theatrical awards show. Master improvisers gather made up, hit song suggestions from the audience and create a spontaneous evening of music, humor and laughter. The audience votes for its favorite song and watches as the cast turns it into a full-blown improvised musical - complete with memorable characters, witty dialogue and plot twists galore.

BNHM has been seen recently at The Triad, Tribeca Film Festival and at the New York Musical Theater Festival. The New York Times calls Broadway’s Next H!T Musical “Hilarious!” Time Out NY says “At last! A musical of, for and by the people.”

Under the direction of improv veterans Rob Schiffman and Deb Rabbai, TheaterWeek hailed the show as “brilliant” and The New York Post called Broadway’s Next H!T Musical “remarkable.”

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased online at tickets.ecok.edu or at the box office the night of the show. For more information about the performance, contact the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center Box Office, 580-559-5751 or visit ecok.edu/FineArts. This event is sponsored in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council.

The cast of Broadway’s Next H!T Musical will be conducting a master’s class from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. on the day of the production. Participants will be led through improvisational exercises and games which illustrate the basic philosophy and rules of improvisation: Saying YES, active listening and making your partner look good. For more information on the class, contact Dr. Rick Groetzinger at 580-559-5600. Space is limited.

The 2015-16 fine arts season is sponsored by the ECU Foundation, Inc., Oklahoma Arts Council, Communication Federal Credit Union, Vision Bank, Citizen’s Bank, Santa Fe
