The Astronomy Club at East Central University will bring out the telescopes Monday [FEB. 6] for a viewing of the moon and Jupiter. The viewing will be from 7 to 7:30 p.m. at the ECU Observatory northeast of Norris Field.

Parking is available at the ECU Physical Plant. The observatory is about 100 feet up a hill to the north. The viewing will be canceled if it is cloudy or raining.

“If in doubt, don’t come,” said Dr. Carl Rutledge, ECU professor of physics.

The next viewing will be of Mars, Jupiter and the Orion Nebula from 9 to 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 [THURSDAY].

Two viewings are scheduled in April: Saturn, Mars and the moon from 10 to 10:30 p.m. on April 2, and Saturn and Venus from 9:30 to 10 p.m. April 18.
