The works of two emerging artists from Oklahoma City are on exhibit through Oct. 26 in the East Central University Art Gallery.

Dylan Bradway, a 24-year-old artist and graphic designer, and his wife, Amanda Weathers-Bradway, a 24-year-old self-taught artist, live in their studio in the historic Plaza District in Oklahoma City.

They both enjoy closeness with their local art community and continually work on connecting with other people from all artistic walks through collaboration and volunteer work.

A closing reception for the artists will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 26. Admission is free and the gallery is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, on the east side of the Education Building.

Dylan Bradway's paintings have been shown in many exhibits in Oklahoma City as well as Tulsa and Los Angeles. His works contain characters that are loosely influenced by urban graffiti culture and each seems to have its own personality and story to tell.

He uses many mediums to create his work but the main components are acrylic, ink, charcoal and graphite. The idea behind his work is to get the viewer to interpret his characters, what they are like and what they are feeling.

Amanda Weathers-Bradway's paintings have been exhibited extensively in Oklahoma City and have also been shown in Tulsa and Los Angeles. Her subject matter is greatly influenced by ancient Japanese, Chinese and Thai cultures.

Using acrylic, watercolor and graphite on wood, she often makes the whimsical characters the solitary focal point with intricately drawn abstract floral borders. The latest series, "Year of the Dragon," is a work in progress over the next year and will feature two main characters, "Miso" (a small Asian girl) and "Ping" (the dragon).
