ADA – The East Central University Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Saxophone Quartet will perform an outdoor concert Monday evening on campus.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 4, on the Centennial Plaza, located on the northwest side of campus between the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center and the Horace Mann building. Ada’s Main Street terminates on its east end at the plaza. The outdoor concert is free and the public is invited to attend.

The ECU Jazz Ensemble is set to perform “All Blues” by Miles Davis, “Autumn Leaves” by Joseph Kosma, “Blue Bossa” by Kenny Dorham and “Scrapple from the Apple” by Charlie Parker. The ECU Jazz Saxophone Quartet will perform “Miniature Jazz Suite No. 1” by Lennie Niehaus and “A Gozar con mi Combo” by Israel “Cachao” López, arranged by Jan Thalman.

Students performing in the ECU Jazz Ensemble include Jessica Wilkinson of Davis, violin and flute; David Alexander of Altus, clarinet; Jaden Fylstra of Sulphur, clarinet; Libby Revel of Moore, clarinet and bass clarinet; Laren Brown of Lone Grove, saxophone; Garrett Workman of Moore, guitar; Alex Hamm of Checotah, bass; Skye Shepard of Ardmore, bass; John Roberts of Wetumka, percussion; and William Welden of Oklahoma City, percussion.

Students performing in the ECU Jazz Saxophone Quartet include Dayna Dawson of Ardmore, alto saxophone; Dalton Davis of Davis, soprano/alto saxophone; Andrew Ambrosoli of Ardmore, tenor saxophone; and Hannah Ticer of Shawnee, baritone saxophone.
