Philip Todd (center), assistant professor for mass communication at East Central University, received a graduate paper award at the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics in San Antonio, Texas in March. Todd’s paper was entitled “Almost Only Counts in Horseshoes and Collateral Damage: A sacredness of life ethical model for reporting civilian casualties.” Todd proposed a model for reporters seeking more accurate coverage of civilian casualties in war, based on research done from his ongoing dissertation work at the University of Oklahoma.
