Golfers of all levels and ages will have an opportunity to help enrich the lives of Ada's youngest citizens through a benefit adult/child golf scramble July 20 [TUESDAY]. Project Invest, an initiative to help build support of Ada-area child care programs, will host the benefit at Lakewood Golf Course.
The cost is $75 per two-person team, which includes the 9-hole scramble, cart, meal and drink. Each team must consist of one adult and one child who is old enough to participate in the scramble. Teams must register in advance.
"This is the second fundraising effort of Project Invest. We thought this would provide great family time as well as benefitting a very worthy cause," said Laura Spivey, child care consultant for ECU Child Care Resource and Referral. "It has been so gratifying to see how supportive the community has been of our young children.
"Thanks to the money that we have raised, each child care home and center in the Ada area has received supplemental supplies and materials to help enrich the early learning experiences of their clients," she said.
Contact numbers to register for the scramble are 580-559-5873 or 580-559-5367.
Project Invest is a collaboration of ECU Child Care Resource and Referral and Smart Start South Central, an early childhood initiative housed in ECU's Center of Continuing Education and Community Services. For more information, contact Trish Little at 559-5367 or Cheryl Bell at 559-5367.
