Petronel Malan, a multiple Grammy nominee and gold medalist of several international piano competitions, will perform a free concert Thursday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Ada Arts and Heritage Center.
In addition to the Oct. 1 performance, Malan will be conducting a master class to East Central University students at noon, Oct. 2, in the Faust Auditorium. That is free and open to the public as well.
Described as formidable…dizzying…magical by New York reviewer Harris Goldsmith, Malan brings a uniquely captivating style and continuously enthralls audiences worldwide.
The program includes Beethoven’s Sonta Op. 27 No. 2, the Schumann Symphonic Etudes Op. 13 and the rarely heard Etudes of Brahm’s Lieder as transcribed by Lowell Liebermann.
