ADA – Americana and Indie sounds will fill East Central University’s Ataloa Theatre in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center, Wednesday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. as Colorado-based band Songs of the Fall along with The Baptist Generals from Denton Texas will take the stage.
Part of ECU’s Fine Arts Season, Songs of the Fall features five-time Grammy nominee Cia Cherryholmes on banjo and vocals and Stetson Adkisson on guitar and vocals. They have been described as a meeting of celtic, delta blues and bluegrass and referred to as the American version of the Swell Season.
They began touring in 2011 under the name Stetson & Cia, playing Americana, folk, and bluegrass events. In 2012, they officially changed their band name and teamed up with Grammy Award winning producer Paul Ebersold to record their self-titled debut album and have toured and performed in Europe and the U.S. over the years with Sarah Jarosz, Mark O’Conner, David Crowder, Marty Stuart & Sturgill Simpson to name a few.
The opening act, The Baptist Generals, is known for its haunting, claustrophobic take on drunken folk, recently released their sophomore album, “Jackleg Devotional to the Heart.” The band features Cee Flemmons, Ryan Williams, Jeff Ryan, Paul Slavens, Peter Salisbury and Jason Reimer.

The concert is being sponsored by the Oklahoma Arts Council and ECU Foundation, Inc. In making it a dinner and show night, patrons can present their season ticket patron card and receive a 10 percent discount on the night of performances at Rib Crib, Vintage 22 and the Santa Fe Steakhouse.
A $5 cash bar will also be available in the Pogue Art Gallery, beginning at 6:45 p.m., prior to the concert.
