East Central University Veterans Upward Bound Program is hosting a special day to celebrate veterans and military service members on Thursday, May 19, beginning at 9 a.m. The event will be held in Foundation Hall at the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center at 830 E. Main Street in Ada.
The Veterans Upward Bound program is also celebrating 50 years of supporting veterans and military service members. The program was established at ECU in 1995.
This year’s featured speaker is Major Ed Pulido, U.S. Army (Ret.). He is the senior vice president of the Folds of Honor Foundation, a founding member of Warriors for Freedom Foundation, and the founder of Warrior Nation, a movement focused on the rights of liberty, freedom and patriotism with an autobiography, “Warrior for Freedom: Challenge, Triumph and Change, the Major Ed Pulido Story.”
Vendor tables will be available at 9 a.m. providing resources and information for service members and their families. The program featuring Pulido will begin at 10 a.m. with lunch following on a first come first serve basis. Door prizes will also be given out during lunch.
