New students will check in to their residence halls at their assigned time- Check your ECU email for an email message with instructions from the ECU Housing Office. Take opportunity to meet your roommate and unpack.

11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Lunch
- Have lunch at Taff Cafeteria, Food Trucks on Centennial Plaza, or try a local restaurant (use your ECU ID to get a discount at locations listed in the discount guide)

2 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.: Communter Tiger Prep Check-in Centennial Plaza

All commuter students must check in to Tiger Prep.

3 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.: Welcome Event – Ataloa Theatre

The ECU President welcomes students and families to ECU. Begin with the End in Mind - Every stage of life has a beggining and an end. The end is graduation - this is the beginning ceremony of your journwey at East Central University! Required for all new students.

Being the Parents of a College Student

Parents remain in Ataloa Theatre.

Dr. Brandon Hill will share tips on how to partner with ECU and your student for their success.

5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: Dinner – Taff Cafeteria/Local Restaurants

Enjoy a family meal together in Chartwells, or at a local restaurant.

Students with meal plans ca eat at Chartwells as part of their meal plan.

This will be the time to say family goodbyes.

8 p.m. – Midnight: Community Life Session & Res. Hall Meetings – Ataloa Theatre

For new students only (required). Learn what opportunities and responsibilities you have while being part of the ECU Community.

After this event we will dismiss to required residence hall meetings and activities which will continue into the late evening.

Commuters – After the Community Life Session there will be a commuter reception.

9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Tiger Prep Colloquium (Topic: Understand) – Ataloa Theatre

Join your fellow classmates and UNIV 1001 Instructors to discover how to have a successful start to your academic career at ECU.

10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.: UNV 1001 Class – See Appendix A

Required for all new students.

You will meet with your UNIV 1001 Class to get opportunity to know your instructor and classmates better.

Non-enrolled students will have a soedcial meeting location.

Join your new friends at the football stadium to learn about our traditions and watch the football team have an intra-squad scrimmage.

9:00 pm: Glow Paint Party – North Lawn (Just north of Koi Ishto)

Put on some old white clothes and come to the Glow Paint Party where you will enjoy music, black lights, and gallons of glow paint.

Stop by the library to explore the study areas and services that the library has to offer. -
6 – 8 p.m.: Back to School Block Party – Centennial Plaza
Join the community for one of ECUs favorite traditions – The Block Party – Student Clubs and Organizations will have booths for entertainment. Find and join some organizations that match your interests. Dinner will be served at this event. -
8 p.m. – On: Residence Halls Community Time -- Residence Halls
Return to your residence halls for community building time and to get ready for school tomorrow. Don’t stay up too late!

8 a.m.: Classes Start -- Make sure that you know where all of your classes meet before Monday so that you show up at the right place at the right time.

10 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Howdy Fair – University Center Lawn
Join the Ada Community as they welcome you to town. Discover the ways you can get involved locally as well as sample food from local restaurants and get free stuff!
