National Student Exchange (NSE) provides accessible collegiate study away to undergraduate students at member colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Destinations include beach campuses, campuses in Puerto Rico where students can study Spanish, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s), and campuses known for undergraduate research. Students can choose a “home pay” opportunity, in which case they stay enrolled at ECU and pay tuition and fees here, but they pay for housing and meals at their host institution. On “home pay” most ECU scholarships apply. Students can also choose a “host pay” opportunity, in which they temporarily transfer to their host institution. On “host pay” students pay tuition, fees, housing and meals at their host institution and get Federal Financial aid through that school. Most students who participate in NSE study away for a semester, although some go for a year and there are some summer programs. For detailed information about member campuses, see the NSE website https://www.nse.org.
