Environmental Research Apprenticeship Program

The Environmental Research Apprenticeship Program (ERAP) is a grant funded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This grant allows for 12 full-time ECU undergraduate students to work under the guidance of 12 EPA scientists at the Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Center. It is a high honor for students to be selected to participate in ERAP and to qualify students must possess:

2.75 Grade Point Average or Higher
Year-round (including summer) full-time status
A declared major in a math or science discipline

FAQ

How many hours a week may I work?

Students can work up to 20 hours per week during fall and spring semesters and up to 29 hours a week during summer semesters.
 

Will ERAP work around my class schedule?

Yes, ERAP is very similar to a student worker job on campus. The students create a work schedule each semester that fits around their classes and labs.
 

Will I have to work nights or weekends?

No, most ERAP students never work nights or weekends. Occasionally, mentors will need students to work abnormal hours while conducting certain experiments, but this is very rare.
