ALPHA GAMMA DELTA LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to legacies of Alpha Gamma Delta that have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. 

WANDA & LEON BIDDY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship will be awarded to an active Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity member classified as a sophomore, junior, or senior. The recipient must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and preference will be given to students with a degree plan of Communication Studies Concentration, through the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences.  

ROBERT D. COLEMAN, JR.  MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship will be awarded to an active Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity member based on leadership abilities and service to the organization and community. The recipient should have a minimum 2.25 GPA, but leadership is stressed.

ECU WOMEN’S CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the ECU Women’s Club, with special consideration for financial need.

GLBT DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a full-time ECU student classified as a sophomore or above with a minimum 3.25 GPA.  To apply students must complete the Foundation Scholarship Application in its entirety as well as submit a typed essay (400-500 words) describing how they currently foster, or would foster, an understanding and acceptance of GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, & Transgender) and other diversity issues on the ECU campus.  The essay needs to be typed on a Word document, 12 point, Times New Roman, double-spaced and emailed to foundation@ecok.edu by February 1st of each year for priority consideration. This scholarship was establish by ECU alumnus, Jim Gray, in order to promote diversity at the collegiate level.  

KAY AND JOHN HARGRAVE COMMUNITY WATER STEWARDSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship will provide a research opportunity for a graduate student in the Water Resources Policy and Management Master's Degree program to work on a project benefitting a community that has a primary water source that is exhibiting signs of stress due to a variety of sources. the student selected to receive this scholarship will present a plan of action to community representatives that will protect and enhance their water source.  This plan of action may include but not be limited to; comparable data of water quality and quantity from other similar water bodies, photographs of the compromised water source, education materials for community members to become informed of the water issue, social media presence, and presentations at community meetings.  In addition, the selected graduate student will present their research and action plan at the annual Oka` Sustainability conference, once permission is received from the designated community representative with whom the project was initiated.  Oka`, the Water Institute at ECU, will provide oversight for this process upon selection of the graduate student. 
Water is a vital resource for communities to thrive. Kay and John Hargrave believe that educating citizens to the need for protection and conversation of water sources  goes hand in hand with the community's ability to prosper.  Kay and John have established this scholarship to help steward such education.  

DR. JAMES HARRIS CLASS/PIKE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship will be awarded to a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity who is majoring in a CLASS (College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences) area. Dr. Harris taught History at ECU for years, and this scholarship has been established by his fraternity brothers in his honor.

BRET D. ISENHOWER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship has been established by the ECU GOLD Program and the ECU Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha. It will be awarded to a veteran (honorably discharged), an actively serving reservist, a child of a veteran or fallen service member, or a member of the ECU Greek Community who best exemplifies the character and willingness to "serve a purpose greater than his or her self" that was exhibited by Bret Isenhower during his time of military service. 

NISHA KARKI INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

Nisha Karki was born and raised in Nepal and came from a very poor family.  She was an only child and lost her father at a very young age.  Nisha was raised in a one room house and her widowed mother worked tirelessly to give her a better life.  Her mother managed to raise money from relatives and friends to send Nisha to the U.S. to get a nursing degree.   Nisha was a compassionate, intelligent, hardworking, fun loving, and cheerful person.  She passed away on November 16, 2016 at the young age of 20.  To commemorate her life and legacy, the ECU Asian Student Association, alums and friends have established this endowed scholarship fund.  

CHURCHILL THOMAS AND MELBA THOMAS KING HONORS SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship will be used for awards to students who have been selected for the ECU Honors Program.

MURPHY BONDURANT SCHOLARSHIP (bwinstitute@ecok.edu)
This scholarship will be awarded to ECU students attending full-time that have and maintain a minimum 3.2 GPA.  Applicants must provide a 1-3 page essay regarding - "how their education will impact mental health awareness and drug abuse prevention".  Essays and a current transcript must be submitted to the ECU Brandon Whitten Institute and/or the Department of Professional Programs in Human Services via email to: bwinstitute@ecok.edu with subject line: Murphy Bondurant Scholarship. This scholarship was established by alumna Sara Murphy Bondurant and her husband Michael to bring greater awareness to the need for mental health services and drug abuse prevention. 

GEORGE NIGH AWARD (Graduating Senior)
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior with the highest GPA and will also be based on contribution to ECU and to the community. Governor George Nigh is an ECU alumnus and this scholarship was established in his honor by Julian Rothbaum.

DR. STAN NNOCHIRIONYE INTERNATION STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

Dr. Stan Nnochirionye was born in Nigeria and died on January 30, 2019 in Ada, Oklahoma.  He came to the United States to seek graduate studies and retired as a professor from East Central University.  Dr. Stan came from humble beginnings and made the best of the many opportunities provided in his new country of residence.  He was well known as a soccer coach of the first women's intercollegiate soccer team at ECU and the founder of the ECU Soccer club and the Ada Boys & Girls soccer club.  He was one of the founders of the International Connection Club and an advisor for the African Caribbean Student club.  Dr. Stan was fondly known by many as "Stan the Man" or "Mr. Soccer".  He was a compassionate, intelligent, hardworking, fun-loving, and cheerful person.  To commemorate Dr. Stan's life and legacy, the family, friends, alums, and students have established this scholarship for international students.  

PI KAPPA ALPHA, EPSILON OMEGA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the fraternity.

ROYALTY OWNER SCHOLARSHIP (Contact the School/College of your chosen major to apply)
In the John Cecil vs. BP America Production Company (f/k/a Amoco Production Company including BP Amoco Corporation, ARCO, BP Exploration, Inc., BP Corporation North America, Inc. and BP Energy Company) Civil Action No. 16-CV-00410-KEW (filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma) disbursement of Residual Unclaimed Funds, East Central University is identified as a recipient to establish a Royalty Owner Scholarship Fund.

For purposes of the scholarship distribution, Royalty Owner Scholarship means a scholarship fund prioritized for Class Members or their heirs/kin with secondary priority for other royalty owners in Oklahoma. If there are no Class Members or their heirs/kin who apply, or if no qualifying applicants apply, then the East Central University Foundation, Inc. may award these scholarships to other worthy applicants according to the criteria noted below in item 4.

Based upon available interest income and in compliance with the Foundation's scholarship policy, awards will be made to students who qualify for the award. Applicants must present evidence that they are either Class Members or that they are heirs/kin, or that they are royalty owners in Oklahoma. If neither of these categories is filled and other students are to be considered, they must meet the criteria noted below in item 4.

Students awarded this scholarship will be eligible to retain the scholarship for a maximum of four years (or eight semesters) as long as they remain in academic good standing with a minimum grade point average of 3.0. At no point may new individual scholarships be awarded that exceed available funds to meet the continuing expenses of those scholarships already awarded.

Eligible Applicants:
1.  All undergraduates in categories 2, 3, and 4 will be eligible for this scholarship, but priority  consideration in each category will be given to beginning freshmen.

2.  Priority awards will be made to Class members or their heirs/kin.
3.  Secondary priority awards will be made to other royalty owners in Oklahoma.
4.  If no qualifying applicants are identified in items 2 and 3 above, the Scholarship Committee of the school/college will determine other worthy recipients based on the following:   These recipients must be majoring in cartography, environmental science, geotechniques, physics, chemistry, legal studies, water policy or other energy related disciplines (including business) that could lead to a career in renewable energy or the oil and gas industry.

ALLYSON AND TALOR STEWART HONORS SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship will be awarded to full0time, undergraduates who are active members of the ECU Honors Program.  Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need who joined the Honors Program after the first semester of their freshman year; who have made good progress towards graduation from the Honors Program; who have been active in the Honors Student Association (serving on the leadership team, attending events, etc.).  This scholarship was created by Allyson and Talor Stewart successful products of the ECU Honors Program.  

JUDITH WHOMBLE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship will be awarded by ECU's Global Education Committee. Mrs. Whomble was very involved with the international student community at ECU and this scholarship was established by friends, family, and colleagues in her honor and memory.
